NATURE RESERVES, MOUNTAINS AND THE GRAN SASSO

Behind and visible from the villa stand the majestic snowcapped Gran Sasso mountains. On the northern flank of the Corno Grande (2912m and the highest peak of the Apennine mountain range) is the most southerly glacier in Europe.

The three National Parks and numerous nature reserves (WWF) are inhabited by many species of wildlife including bears, wolves, chamois deer, porcupine and eagles. There are a number of interesting Geological features in the locality such as caves, spectacular gorges and dolomite rock formations.

Several Health Spas are also situated in tranquil mountain locations.
